Clean carpet in a London living room

What I usually see

Where odours hide.

Pet urine

Uric acid soaks into the backing and underlay, and the smell comes back every time it’s humid.

Smoke

Tar and nicotine settle into every soft surface in the room.

Damp & mustiness

Moisture feeds bacteria, which cause that stale, musty smell.

Cooking & everyday life

Grease and food smells absorbed over years into carpets and sofas.

Odour Removal in London

Source, not perfume

Air fresheners only hide the problem.

A persistent smell usually means something organic is still in the fibres or underneath them. Sprays add perfume on top, and the smell returns as soon as it wears off.

I find where the odour is coming from and treat it there, using enzyme-based neutralisers that break down the cause. They’re non-toxic and safe around children and pets.

You deal with me from the first message to the final check. With around 15 years of experience across London, I do the work myself.

How it works

Thanks Mike, cat urine by the radiator, probably reached the underlay. I’ll treat it at the source; Thursday afternoon OK?

On the day

Find the source, then treat

I trace where the smell is coming from, clean the area and apply a treatment matched to the cause.

Before I leave

Check and advice

We go over the treated areas together, and I explain how to stop the smell from coming back.

The full odour process (8 steps)
  1. Identify the cause. Pet, smoke, damp or cooking, each needs a different approach.
  2. Find the source. Where the smell is strongest and how deep it goes.
  3. Dry vacuum. Hair and debris removed first.
  4. Clean the area. The residue that feeds the smell is lifted out.
  5. Enzyme treatment. Applied at the source and given time to work.
  6. Rinse & extraction. Residue removed so nothing is left to smell later.
  7. Deodorising finish. A neutral finish, not a heavy perfume.
  8. Prevention advice. Ventilation, drying and what to do if it happens again.

FAQ

Odour removal questions.

Can’t find the answer? Just send me a message.

Can you get rid of pet urine smell?

Often, yes. If the urine has reached the underlay or floor, the smell may need more than one treatment. I’ll tell you honestly after checking.

Is the treatment safe for pets and children?

Yes. The enzyme-based products I use are non-toxic, and I’ll tell you when the area can be used again.

Can you remove smoke smell?

Smoke smell can be reduced a lot in carpets and upholstery, but walls and curtains also hold it, so I’ll explain what to expect.

What about musty or damp smells?

I can treat the fibres, but if there’s an ongoing damp problem it needs fixing too, or the smell will return.

Do you just spray a deodoriser?

No. The cause is cleaned out and treated at the source; any deodorising finish is light and neutral.

How much does odour removal cost?

From the £80 minimum booking, or added to a wider clean. A description and a few photos are enough for a quote.
