Clean carpet in a London living room

What I usually see

The stains I’m called out for most.

Red wine

Spreads fast and stains deep, the sooner it’s treated properly, the better the odds.

Coffee & tea

Tannin stains that turn brown and come back if they’re only cleaned on the surface.

Pet accidents

Urine and vomit that leave both a mark and a smell in the backing.

Grease & make-up

Oily marks that ordinary sprays smear around instead of lifting.

Stain Removal in London

Stains are chemistry

Every stain needs its own treatment.

A coffee stain, a wine stain and a grease mark are three different problems. Using the wrong product, or scrubbing hard, can spread a stain, damage the fibre or set it permanently.

I carry a wide range of professional spotting agents, work out what the stain is and what it’s on, and choose the treatment to match. If a stain is permanent, I’ll tell you before I start.

You deal with me from the first message to the final check. With around 15 years of experience across London, I treat every stain myself.

How it works

From a photo of the stain to a clean surface.

What happens when I treat a stain, no guesswork and no false promises.

Before

Send a close-up of the stain

A photo of the mark, what you think caused it and how long it’s been there. You get an honest view and a price.

Hi Chloe, red wine on a wool carpet, two days old. It should improve a lot; I can come Friday morning?

On the day

Identify, test, then treat

I check the fibre and the stain, test on a hidden area, then treat it step by step.

Before I leave

We look at it together

You see the result with me. If anything can be improved further, it gets another go there and then.

The full stain process (8 steps)
  1. Identify the stain. What it is, how old it is and whether it’s been treated before.
  2. Identify the fibre. Wool, synthetic or fabric, it limits which products are safe.
  3. Test on a hidden area. So the treatment doesn’t affect the colour.
  4. Remove the residue. Excess material lifted before any liquid goes on.
  5. Targeted treatment. A spotting agent matched to the stain, given time to work.
  6. Gentle agitation. Worked in carefully, never scrubbed.
  7. Rinse & extract. The product rinsed out so the mark doesn’t come back.
  8. Honest check. We look at the result together and I explain aftercare.

FAQ

Stain removal questions.

Can’t find the answer? Just send me a message.

Can every stain be removed?

No, and I won’t pretend otherwise. Some dyes, bleach marks and old stains are permanent. I’ll tell you what I expect before I start.

What should I do straight after a spill?

Blot. Don’t rub, with a clean white cloth and plain water. Avoid supermarket sprays, which can set the stain or bleach the fibre.

Does an old stain still have a chance?

Often, yes. Older stains are harder, but many still improve a lot with the right treatment.

Will the stain come back?

Stains often return when residue is left behind. I rinse the product out properly to stop that from happening.

Do you remove stains from sofas too?

Yes, carpets, rugs, upholstery and mattresses.

How much does stain removal cost?

It starts from the £80 minimum booking, or it can be added to a wider clean. A photo is enough for a quote.
