Clean carpet in a London living room

What I usually see

Where leather shows wear first.

Headrests

Hair products and skin oils darken the leather and leave a shiny, greasy patch.

Arms

Hands rest there every day, so the finish wears and the colour dulls.

Seat cushions

Creases collect dirt, and the surface starts to look dry and cracked.

Dye transfer

Blue jeans and dark clothing can leave marks on lighter leather.

Leather Sofa Cleaning in London

Leather first

Not all leather is the same.

Pigmented, semi-aniline and full aniline leather all need different care. A product that’s fine on a protected finish can stain or darken an unprotected one.

That’s why every job starts with identifying the leather. It’s then cleaned by hand with products made for that type, and finished with a conditioner that helps keep it supple.

You deal with me from the first message to the final check. With around 15 years of experience across London, I clean the leather myself.

How it works

From a photo to leather that feels soft again.

Leather furniture is cleaned in your home. Nothing is taken away.

Before

Send photos of the sofa and any marks

Thanks Robert, 3-seater in pigmented leather, the headrest marks should come up well. Tuesday morning work for you?

Dawid · example reply

On the day

Leather check, then the clean

I identify the leather, test on a hidden spot, then clean by hand, section by section.

Before I leave

Conditioned and checked

The leather is conditioned, we look at it together, and I explain how to keep it that way.

The full leather process (8 steps)
  1. Leather identification. Pigmented, semi-aniline or aniline, it decides the products.
  2. Hidden-area test. Checked before anything is used on show.
  3. Dust & crumbs removed. Seams and creases vacuumed first.
  4. Hand cleaning. A cleaner matched to the leather, worked in with a soft brush.
  5. Greasy areas. Headrests and arms given extra attention.
  6. Wipe-off. Dirt and residue lifted with clean cloths.
  7. Conditioning. Restores softness and helps prevent drying and cracking.
  8. Aftercare advice. How often to clean and condition it at home.

FAQ

Leather cleaning questions.

Can’t find the answer? Just send me a message.

How much does leather sofa cleaning cost?

From the £80 minimum booking. The price depends on the size of the furniture and its condition, photos are enough for a quote.

Can you fix cracks or worn colour?

Cleaning and conditioning can improve dry, dull leather a lot, but it won’t repair cracks or restore lost colour. I’ll tell you what to expect.

Is it safe for aniline leather?

Yes, if it’s identified properly. Aniline leather is unprotected, so it needs gentle products and a careful hand. That’s why I check first.

Can you remove ink or dye transfer?

Sometimes. It depends on the leather and how long the mark has been there. I’ll test first and be honest about the result.

How soon can I use the sofa?

Usually straight away or within an hour, leather cleaning uses very little moisture.

Do you clean fabric sofas too?

Yes, fabric sofas, armchairs and dining chairs. See the upholstery cleaning page or mention it in your message.
